FOOD FORTIFICATION (F+ LOGO)
Fortification is the addition of key vitamins and minerals such as iron, iodine, zinc, vitamins A and D to staple foods such as rice, wheat, oil, milk and salt to improve their nutritional content. These nutrients may or may not have been originally present in the food before processing or may have been lost during processing. One of the strategies to address this problem is fortification of food. The food fortification logo is an identity mark to distinguish fortified products from non-fortified ones as per the standards notified under FSS (Fortification of Food) Regulation, 2018. This square shaped blue symbol has ‘+F’ written within with a swirling stroke surrounding it. It has its tagline ‘Fortified Sampoorna Poshan Swasth Jeevan' written in black below. It means ‘Fortified Complete Nourishment Healthy Life’.

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.
