INDIA’S G20 PRESIDENCY
The logo of India’s assumption of G20 Presidency was unveiled on November 8, 2022. The G20 logo draws inspiration from the vibrant colours of India’s national flag - saffron, white and green and blue. It juxtaposes planet earth with the lotus, India’s national flower that reflects growth amid challenges. The earth reflects India’s pro-planet approach to life, one in perfect harmony with nature. Below the G20 logo is ‘Bharat’, written in the Devanagari. The theme of India’s G20 Presidency – ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ or ‘One Earth One Family One Future’ - is drawn from the ancient Sanskrit text of the Maha Upanishad. The theme also spotlights LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment), with its associated, environmentally sustainable and responsible choices, both at the level of individual lifestyles as well as national development, leading to globally transformative actions resulting in a cleaner, greener and bluer future. They represent a uniquely Indian approach to our G20 Presidency, of living in harmony with the surrounding ecosystem.

GOVERNMENT DEGREE COLLEGE, REASI (GDC REASI) The emblem of Government Degree College, Reasi (GDC Reasi) features a circle housing the motifs of a landscape of a mountain range with river flowing, a lightning bolt or power symbol and the motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘योगः कर्मसु कौशलम्’ (Verse 50, Chapter 2, Bhagavad Gita), which translates to ‘Yoga is Skill in Action’ is written. The name and place of the college is written around the circle. A purple laurel supports the seal. The mountains and river refer to the local topography of snow-capped peaks of the Himalayan mountain ranges; the lightning bolt symbiosis raw energy, power, enlightenment, and the sparking of knowledge; and the laurels represent a traditional laurel wreath, which symbolises academic triumph, victory and the pursuit of honour.

GOVERNMENT DEGREE COLLEGE, HIRANAGAR (GDC HIRANAGAR) The emblem of Government Degree College, Hiranagar (GDC Hiranagar) features an entrance arch with a traditional lamp supported by an open book with the motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘सा विद्या या विमुक्तये’ Rishi Parāśara, 1,19.41, Viṣṇu Purāṇa), which translates to  ‘Knowledge is the One That Liberates’ is written at the bottom. An image of Goddess Saraswati is placed on the right and an image of a palm tree placed on the right. All these are ensconced by red circular outlines and surmounted by the name of the college. SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.

The acronym of the college ‘GDC Akhnoor’ is written on the blues base of the emblem. The book represents the primary source of literacy, formal education and continuous academic learning; and the sun symbolises the dawn of wisdom, intellectual awakening and the dispersion of the darkness of ignorance through knowledge.

The motto of the college is written on a banner placed below the seal. The stylised ‘K’ mimics an upward-reaching or advancing human figure, which represents an individual striving for growth, achievement and self-actualization through education; the crimson circle serves to convey passion, energy and determination; and the yellow outlines symbolise quality, excellence and the noble pursuit of nurturing future leaders.
