A nucleus of a 'National Museum of Man' began functioning from New Delhi from March 21, 1977 as part of the Anthropological Survey of India. In 1978 it was separated from the Anthropological Survey of India and declared as an Independent Subordinate Office of the Department of Culture, Government of India. In March 1985 the Museum was renamed as Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya, which was later through a Cabinet decision named after Indira Gandhi as Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya (IGRMS). For international perspective the term ‘National Museum of Mankind’ was adopted. Its logo has a slender dancing girl stylistically depicted in tribal art form in red on a background of yellow.

GOVERNMENT COLLEGE, DEHRA (GC DEHRA) The blue colour emblem of Government College, Dehra (GC Dehra) features a circle housing the motifs of an open book and radiating sun and the text ‘Estd 2017’. The circle is ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college. A pair of laurels supports the border. Below the seal, the motto of the college ‘Knowledge & Empowerment’ is written. The book signifies the pursuit of higher education, standard knowledge acquisition and open access to academic exploration for all students; the sun represents the dispelling of ignorance through enlightenment and the bright future awaiting empowered graduates; and the laurels are traditional symbol representing academic achievement, honour and victory in the pursuit of personal excellence.

GOVERNMENT DEGREE COLLEGE KOTLI (GDC KOTLI) The emblem of Government Degree College Kotli (GDC Kotli) features the motifs of a green mountain range with peaks, greenish blue waves of water, an open book and the text ‘2016’. The motifs are ensconced by the name of the college in Devanagari and English in red. The motto of the college ‘Education Liberates’ and in Sanskrit ‘सा विद्या या विमुक्तये’ (1,19.41, Viṣṇu Purāṇa, Rishi Parāśara), which translates to ‘Knowledge is the One That Liberates’ is written below the book. The mountain range reflects the local landscape of Kotli; the flowing water represents the local water streams running through the valley, symbolising continuous movement, vitality and life; and the book is a universal symbol for knowledge, learning and academic pursuit.

GOVERNMENT COLLEGE KUKUMSERI (GC KUKUMSERI) The emblem of Government College Kukumseri (GC Kukumseri) features an image of a yellow Sonki flower (Senecio bombayensis or Jacobaea bombayensis) ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name of the college in Devanagari and its motto in Sanskrit ‘उत्तिष्ठत जाग्रत प्राप्य वरान्निबोधत’ (Mantra 14, Valli 3, Chapter 1, Kathopanishad), which translates to ‘Arise, Awake and Stop Not till the Goal is Reached’. The Sonki is a bright yellow wild bloom native to the high-altitude rocky plateaus and cold Himalayan mountain ranges and valleys of the Lahaul region. It blooms extensively at the end of the monsoon season, carpeting the landscape in a golden-yellow hue. It serves as a visual anchor symbolizing the unique geographic heritage, growth, resilience, and beauty flourishing in a harsh environment.

THE AHMEDNAGAR DISTRICT CENTRAL CO-OPERATIVE BANK LTD. (ADCC BANK) The emblem of The Ahmednagar District Central Co-operative Bank Ltd. (ADCC Bank) has a map of the District supporting a cow with calf; a crest of cereal and an ear of corn is placed on a yellow circle ensconced by a red gear wheel inscribed with its name and place in Devanagari.
