14 CORPS The 14 Corps of the Indian Army is a part of the Army’s Udhampur-based Northern Command. It was raised after the Kargil War in 1999, to control troops in Ladakh. It currently consists of 3rd Infantry Division. The division was created in October 1962 in Ladakh. It fought in the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965. Until 1990, it was headquartered at Kohima under III Corps. It is headquartered at Kumbathang, near Kargil. The sleeve patch of this Corps is red horizontal striped patch intersected with a white stripe in the background with two crossed torches (Vajra) with trident at their ends and wand in the foreground.

No. 15 Squadron NO 15 SQUADRON The No. 15 Squadron of Indian Air Force was formed on August 2, 1951 at Ambala. In 1983, the ‘Flying Lances’ were the first MiG-21 Bis squadron in the Air Force to be modified for the Matra Magic R55, air to air missiles. The squadron was again number plated in 2009 and re-raised in 2012 on the Su-30 at Sirsa AFS. The No. 15 Squadron’s motto is ‘Nihantavya Shatava’ meaning ‘Annihilate the Enemy’. This Squadron is also called ‘Flying Lances’. Its insignia has a flying lancer in the centre with a ball of fire background. It currently operates the Mikoyan MiG-21 from Jodhpur.

INDIA METEOROLOGICAL DEPARTMENT In the year 1875, the Government of India established the India Meteorological Department (IMD), bringing all meteorological work in the country under a central authority in Calcutta. The headquarters of IMD were later shifted to Shimla, then to Poona and finally to New Delhi. Its emblem has a weather map of India in blue colour, within a circular border, its name in Devanagari and English are written. These are divided by two Ashoka Chakras. On the crest is the National Emblem of India and at the bottom on a tricoloured banner, its motto ‘Adityath Jayate Vrushtih’ in Sanskrit, meaning ‘Sun Gives Rainfall’ is written.

SHER-E-KASHMIR UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY KASHMIR Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K) was founded in 1982 by an Act passed by the State Legislature of Jammu and Kashmir. The emblem of the university has a structure of a DNA housing a sheep, pine tree, an apple and heads of cereals placed in the background of mountains, rivers, grass and rising sun. This is topped by its motto ‘भावयविभोर्वै भवम्’ in Sanskrit and Kashmiri, which means ‘Feel the Power of the Lord’. All these are ensconced in a circular border, the top portion of which is treated like a gear wheel and the border bears the name of the university. BISWA BANGLA BISWABIDYALAY Biswa Bangla Biswabidyalay (BBB) was established in 2020 as a liberal arts university in Bolpur, West Bengal. This university is also known as Bolpur University or Biswa Bangla University. The emblem of the university has an open book with its acronym in Bengali written on it and crested by a blue circle depicting a human being and supported by the nib of a pen. All these are ensconced by a green circular border which carries its motto in Bengali ‘তামসো মা জ্যোতির্গময়ঃ’ (Yajnavalkya,1.3.28, Pavamana Mantra, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad) meaning ‘From Darkness Lead me to Light’ and its year of establishment.
