The emblem of National Institute of Unani Medicine (NIUM) has a cross holding the Staff of Hermes with a pair of entwined serpents referring to care and protection and medicine and medical practice respectively. These are supported by a mortar and pestle referring to the unani medicine. All these are placed inside a white square which is further held by a diagonally placed square in yellow, red, cyan and black. These colours refer to the scope, nature and variety of beneficiaries and cure for illnesses. The motifs are supported by a pair of green laurels denoting ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication. At the bottom, on a banner its acronym is written.
