DEFENCE WIVES WELFARE ASSOCIATION
The Defence Wives Welfare Association (DFWA) is the integrated association of tri-service wives welfare associations. “The Aim of the association is to work for the general welfare of the defence community comprising of wives and dependent family members of serving and retired personnel of the Army, Navy and Air Force including widows, both directly as well as through the respective Wives’ Welfare Associations of the Services i.e., AWWA, NWWA and AFWWA by synergising the planning and utilisation of resources and infrastructure available with them and sharing of best practices.” Its emblem, the ‘Tree of Life’, symbolises harmony between the three Services. Purple is the colour of jointmanship and integration between the three Services. It has a purple tree featured like a woman supporting the branches and leaves in three colours with a well-knit and integrated root within a circle. Around the circle its name and motto – ‘Together We Transform’ is written.
