(DNDCC Bank) has a cotton boll supported by a mountain range with a river flowing, a rising sun in the background; a sugarcane culm and ear of corn on the sides ensconced by a circular border inscribed with its name. At the bottom, on a banner, its motto in Sanskrit ‘सत् फलाय  सहकारिता ’ meaning ‘Cooperation for Goodness and Prosperity’ is inscribed.’ The mountains and the river represent the geography of the location of the bank; the sun refers to life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity; the cotton boll, the sugarcane and the corn refer to major domains of financing by the bank.

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.
