EXPORT PROMOTION COUNCIL OF INDIA
Pharmaceutical Export Promotion Council of India (Pharmexcil) is the authorized agency of the government of India for promotion of pharmaceutical exports from India. It was set up under the provisions of Foreign Trade Policy by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in May 2004. One of its objectives is to support, protect, maintain, increase and promote the export of drugs and pharmaceuticals inter alia including intermediates, herbal, ayurvedic, unani and homeopathic medicines, biotech and biological products, diagnostics, surgical,nutraceuticals, pharma industry related services - collaborative research, contract manufacturing, providing base for clinical trials and consultancy. The agency's headquarters is located in Hyderabad. It has a oval shaped logo has its acronym written in black lowercase letters. The background is light yellow two strokes in fresh green and cyan symbolising freshness of medicines and environment friendliness.
