PHARMACY COUNCIL OF INDIA

The gold and blue circular seal of Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) has a pair of intersecting serpents supporting an ampoule, tablets, a mortar and pestle and herbal leaves in the four counters. On either side of the motif is a Lion Capital of Ashoka placed. The serpents are ensconced by a blue circular border with gold, orange and blue outlines bears the name of the institution and its motto in Sanskrit ‘कामये दुःखतप्तानाम् प्रानिनामार्तिनाशनम्’(Srimad Bhagavatam, Mahabharatam) meaning ‘It is My Wish to be Able to Help in Alleviating the Suffering of People’. The serpents mean healthcare, protection and wellbeing; the gold colour symbolises power, prestige and achievement and the blue denotes serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.
