The blue colour insignia Association of Himalayan Yoga Meditation Societies International (AHYMSIN) has a pair of swans facing each other supported by a lotus. A woman with closed eyes crested by a glowing flame is placed above the swans. All these are ensconced by a cobra or serpent. Below the motifs its tagline in Sanskrit ‘योगः समाधिः’ and ‘Yoga is Samadhi’ are written. The lotus refers to beauty, prosperity, fertility, eternity and spirituality; the swans are considered sacred and are symbols of grace and beauty; the flame denotes enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power and the serpent denotes  healthcare, protection and wellbeing.

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.
