The circular emblem of Sri Divya Jivan Sanskrutik Sangh has a rising sun above flowing water superscribed with ॐ.These are ensconced by a circular border which carries its tagline of ‘Karma Bhakti Dhyana Jnana Moksha’ supported by a pair of laurels. At the bottom, on a yellow banner its name is written. The ॐ or Ohm is a symbol representing a sacred sound, syllable, mantra and an invocation and the colour orange symbolises energy, vitality, creativity, inspiration, joy and happiness; the sun refers to life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity; the flowing water refers to the human mind and body and the laurel refers to success, achievement and hard work.

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.
