The circular seal of National Cooperative Organics Limited (NCOL) has a peacock in the background of a globe supported by a pair of shaking hands in yellow and orange referring to cooperation across the globe. The name of the cooperative and its motto in Sanskrit ‘जैविक आरोग्यजीवनाय’ meaning ‘For Organic Healthy Living’ are written on a border with blue outline ensconcing the motifs. The peacock symbolises  regrowth, rejuvenation, royalty, respect, honour, integrity, beauty, love and passion.

The motto is written in Sanskrit which is an extract from the Kathopanishad ‘विद्ययाऽमृतमश्नुते’, (Shloka 11, Ishopanishad) meaning ‘Immortality is Gained from Learning’. Inside the border, motifs of a drum, supported by a pair of horns; an open book topped by a red sun ; a banyan tree and a pair of crests of millets are placed. UNIVERSITY OF JAMMU The University of Jammu (UoJ) came into existence in 1969 through the Kashmir and Jammu Universities Act 1969 following bifurcation of the erstwhile University of Jammu and Kashmir. The circular emblem of the university has an open book supporting a lotus with a background of mountains and surmounted by atomic structure. These are ensconced by a yellow circular border which carries its motto in Sanskrit ‘तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय’ (Yajnavalkya,1.3.28, Pavamana Mantra, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad) meaning ‘From Darkness Lead me to Light’ on one side and its name in Kashmiri on the other side.
