The emblem of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has a pair of students holding an open book surmounted ‘WiFi’ symbol and supported by a computer and five lamps in green colour. These motifs are supported by a pair of laurels and surmounted by its name in Devanagari. Its motto is written in Sanskrit ‘प्रज्ञानं ब्रह्म’ meaning ‘Wisdom is the Brahman’.  The laurels refer to ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication.

The Staff is supported by green mountains with orange rising sun and its motto in Sanskrit ‘ज्ञानम् जीवनम् च प्रति’ meaning ‘Towards Knowledge and Life’. These are ensconced by a blue circle around which its name is written. This is supported by a pair of laurels. Below these motifs its acronym is written. The laurels refer to success, hard work and perseverance; the green mountains and the rising sun refer to the Northeastern region and the Staff refers to medicine and the medical profession.
