MADHYA PRADESH POLICE
Reorganization of States led to the formation of State of Madhya Pradesh on November 01, 1956 comprising of the erstwhile central province of Bhopal, Madhya Bharat and Vindhya Pradesh. The first Inspector General of the new state was Shri B.G.Ghate, who was succeeded by Shri K. F. Rustamji in 1958. The emblem of the Madhya Pradesh Police has a circle inscribed with Devanagari acronym ‘माप्रपु’ in cyan. In the backdrop is a cross in black, which is encircled by a laurel with Ashoka Lion Pillar as crest. At the bottom on a cyan colour banner the motto 'देश भक्ति - जन सेवा' meaning 'Patriotism - Public Service' is inscribed on a banner.
