The circular emblem of Adi Shankara Institute of Engineering Technology is a service mark with blue gera wheel housing the picture of Sri Adi Shankaracharya sitting on a lotus placed on a globe. This is supported by an open book and a pair of traditional lamps. On a banner placed below the gear wheel its motto in Sanskrit ‘;विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written. The gear wheel refers to interconnectedness, efficiency, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure; lotus refers to purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty; open book refers to knowledge, education, learning, intelligence and wisdom and the lamps refer to light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity.

BHARATHIDASAN UNIVERSITY Bharathidasan University (BDU) was established in February 1982 and was named after the Tamil poet, Bharathidasan. The motto of the university ‘We Will Create a Brave New World’ meaning ‘புதியதோர் உலகம் செய்வோம்’. The Bharathidasan Institute of Management known as BIM is located within the BHEL premises, a public sector undertaking at Thiruverumbur. The emblem of the university has a portrait of Bharathidasan supported by a lotus holding a traditional lamp and surmounted by its name and place in Tamil and English.
