The emblem of S.E.A College of Engineering and Technology (SEACET) features a blue shield with brown borders housing the motifs of an open book supporting a globe with the letters ‘SEAET’ cresting and a red banner inscribed with its motto ‘Knowledge is Supreme’. A semicircular red banner surmounts this assembly inscribed with the name of the managing trust. The tagline of the college ‘Progress Through Quality Education’ is written around the top banner. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the book refers to knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; the globe denotes education, knowledge, influence, timelessness, global unity and interconnectedness.

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.
