The shield is surmounted by the initials ‘QIS’ and supported by five stars. This assemblage is ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name and the name of its managing trust. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the book refers to learning, education, knowledge, and wisdom; the compass, gearwheel and the flask refer to the subject of engineering and technology; and the stars denote guidance, hope, destiny, achievement, and spiritual connection.

The motto of the college in Sanskrit is ‘विद्यया विन्दते अमृतम्’ (Mantra 2.4, Kenopanishad), which translates to ‘Immortality Through Knowledge’. The Staff of Caduceus symbolises medicine and medical profession; the book symbolises the accumulation and dissemination of medical knowledge and the academic foundation of the institution; the torch with flame is an emblem of enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power; and the laurels are symbols, which represent victory, honour and academic excellence.
