The emblem of Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science (KITSW) features the Kakatiya Kala Thoranam with the motifs of a pair of satellite dish antennae, a water dam denoting the subject disciplines of engineering; a banner inscribed with the motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘कृषितो नास्ति दुर्भिक्षं’ meaning ‘Cultivation Eliminates Famine’; and supported by another banner inscribed with the name of the managing Society. These are ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college and placed inside a gearwheel. The gearwheel is supported by a bridge and a rising sun. At the bottom, the year of establishment of the college and its initials ‘KITSW’ are written. The gearwheel denotes technology, engineering, interconnectedness, efficiency, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure; Kakatiya Kala Thoranam is an ancient, intricately carved stone arch in the Warangal Fort in Telangana symbolises Telugu heredity and culture; and the sun represents life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity.
