On an orange banner placed below, the motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘विद्या विनयेन वर्धिते’ meaning ‘Knowledge is Enhanced by Humility’ is inscribed. The gearwheel denotes interconnectedness, efficiency, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure; the computer refers to technology and engineering; the Sri Sudarshan Chakra symbolises the mind and creativity and it is also a weapon to destroy evil, divine guidance and blessings.

KALINGA INSTITUTE OF INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) was established in 1992 as a vocational training centre with two staff and twelve students. KIIT owes its existence to the vision of its founder Prof. Achyuta Samanta. The green colour emblem of the institute has a bottom half of a gear wheel supporting the acronym ‘KIIT’ of its name in which the two ‘i’s depicting two humans.
