MAA DURGA

Maa Durga symbolises divine feminine power (Shakti), the triumph of good over evil, wisdom, strength, and protection from evil and negative forces. Maa Durga embodies the eternal cosmic energy that creates and sustains the universe, acting as a universal mother. She defeated the demon Mahishasura, symbolising the ultimate triumph of righteousness, courage, and truth over evil and wickedness. She represents the power of the Supreme Being and the combined strength of all divine forces, a force that is capable of destroying negativity. As a mother goddess, she provides protection, guidance, and safety from negative influences, granting strength, courage, and spiritual well-being to her devotees. Her weapons, like the lotus and sword, symbolise profound knowledge, spiritual awakening, and the destruction of ignorance. She is the mother of the universe, from whom creation, sustenance, and dissolution originate. Lion or Tiger Mount symbolises her boundless power, courage, and her role as a guardian against injustice; the Trishul or Trident represents control over the three aspects of nature: creation, preservation, and destruction; conch shell symbolises purity, divine sound, and the ability to drive away impurities and negative energies; the Sudarshan Chakra (Discus) embodies righteousness, karma, and the eternal power of the universe; and the sword signifies the power of knowledge, the sharpness of intellect, and the destruction of ignorance and ego.
