The circular emblem of ICAR-Central Institute of Agricultural Engineering (CIAE) has a gear wheel ensconcing a glowing sun, which houses the motifs of a tractor, ear of cereal and an open book. The border between the sun and the gear bears the acronym of its name and place in Devanagari and English and the year of inception alongwith its motto in Sanskrit ‘कृषकानामू हितार्थाय’ meaning ‘For the Benefit of the Farmers’ . The open book symbolises knowledge, learning, wisdom and education; the gear wheel represents interconnectedness, efficiency, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure; the sun represents life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity and the tractor and the ear of the cereal denotes agriculture and engineering.
