The circular border houses the motifs of arid landscape with sun, goat, tree, shrubs, computer and a solar powered instrument, all representing the nature and scope of the institute’s activities. At the bottom its year of inception is inscribed.

The mountains and river refer to the local topography of snow-capped peaks of the Himalayan mountain ranges; the lightning bolt symbiosis raw energy, power, enlightenment, and the sparking of knowledge; and the laurels represent a traditional laurel wreath, which symbolises academic triumph, victory and the pursuit of honour.
