The emblem of Thiagarajar College of Engineering (TCE) features a map of India’s south superimposed with a motif of gopuram crested by a torch with flame and supported by a fish ensconced by a gear wheel and placed on a pink lotus spread with eight petals. On a blue banner placed below the lotus, the motto of the university in Tamil ’வினையே உயிர்’ meaning ‘Action is Life’ is inscribed. The map refers to the university’s geographical location; the gopuram refers to the local historical temple architecture; the fish refers to the Pandya dynasty for which Madurai was the capital; the torch refers to knowledge and enlightenment; the gear wheel refers to the engineering focus of the institution and the lotus refers to purity and auspiciousness.

KARNATAKA POLICE Police in Karnataka were called by various names in different regions. After initiation of policing, they were initially called Thoti, Talwar, Umbalidhar, Kattubidi, Neeraganti etc. The police primarily with policing used to do other jobs entrusted to them. Mysore State was the predecessor to Karnataka State, which was created on November 1, 1965. Sri. L. Rickets was appointed as first Inspector General of Police. During the rule of Maharajas of Mysore, the policing existed in different variants. RAJENDRA UNIVERSITY Rajendra University, Balangir, recognized by UGC as a State Public University, owes its origin to an Intermediate college setup in Balangir in 1944 by Maharaja Rajendra Narayan Sighdeo, the then ruler of the erstwhile Patna State and one of the former Chief Ministers of Odisha. CENTRAL UNIVERSITY OF TAMILNADU The Government of India founded the Central University of Tamil Nadu (CUTN), along with eight other Central Universities, through an Act of Parliament in 2009. Its emblem is in the form of a black shield with a crest of flames in yellow and orange colours. The top portion of the shield, which is separated by a horizontal double head arrow line, has its name written in Devanagari topped by a rising sun. The portion below this is divided into three parts with a symbol of recycling materials, a graduating scholar in a halo and a stem of plant shooting from a pair of meshed gear wheels, which are supported by a pair of blue ribbons. The recycle emblem and the graduate are separated by a pair of downward flowing ribbons. Below the gear, the year of establishment of the university is written. The edge of the shield is marked by the name of the university in English.
