SHRI MATA VAISHNO DEVI UNIVERSITY Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) has been established under The Jammu and Kashmir Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Act, 1999, of the Jammu and Kashmir as an autonomous, technical and fully residential university. It is funded by the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board. The design of the logo looks like a lotus, a symbol of regeneration or a flame. It also looks like 'ॐ' or ‘Om’, the supreme word. The three green bars represent three holy peaks of Trikuta Hills and the three 'pindies' in Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine. The sun, the giver of light, warmth, time, direction, life force, energy, power, radiance and enlightenment have been surrounded by radiating rays going out to nine planets of the solar system. The English version of ‘विज्ञानं ब्रह्म’, the motto is ‘God is Science’. Brahma has been defined as something or someone who nourishes the universe and makes it grow.

BIRLA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY

BIRLA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY The Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) was established in 1955 at Mesra by B. M. Birla. Its emblem in red and grey colours has the structure of an atom supported by an open yellow book ensconced in a gear wheel placed in a red circle with grey border line. The red circle bears the name of the institute in Devanagari and English along with its motto in Sanskrit ‘सा विद्या या विमुक्तये’ meaning ‘That which Liberates is Knowledge’ which forms part of a verse appearing in Vishnu-Purana (1.19.41). The atomic structure and the gear wheel represent the sciences and engineering fields of study respectively. The open book signifies knowledge and wisdom and the colour red passion, power, strength, courage, determination, energy and celebration and the colour grey signifies strength, longevity, unemotional, detached, balanced and impartial, power, influence, wisdom and intelligence.

BHATKHANDE SANSKRITI VISHWAVIDYALAYA

BHATKHANDE SANSKRITI VISHWAVIDYALAYA In 1926, Pandit Vishnu Narayan Bhatkhande established a music school in Lucknow with the help and co-operation of Rai Umanath Bali and Rai Rajeshwar Bali and other music patrons of Lucknow, in the State of Awadh. The Government of India by a notification on October 24, 2000, declared this institute as ‘Deemed University’. It is renamed as Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya (BSV). Its circular emblem has a tanpura supporting its acronym in Devanagari in a circle, with drops of water splashing symbolising the effects of music. Its motto in Sanskrit ‘नादाधीन जगतू’ meaning ‘Self Conceited’ is written below the music instrument. It is ensconced in a running circular design of lotus pattern. These are circumscribed by a border which carries the name of the institute in Devanagari and English. An orange coloured circular border line is holding all the elements together.

SRM UNIVERSITY - AP SRM University - AP, Andhra Pradesh (SRM-AP), is a multi-disciplinary research intensive institute combining academic rigour, evolving research ecosystem, entrepreneurial heritage and pioneering faculty. The university was founded in Amaravati in 2017. The emblem of the university has a motif of a fully grown tree in olive with some of the leaves in orange placed on a glowing light green circle and ensconced by a dark green border with its name inscribed on it. The tree symbolises strength, individuality and expression, calmness, growth and the interconnectedness of everything.

ST. PETER’S INSTITUTE OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND RESEARCH St. Peter’s Institute of Higher Education and Research (SPIHER) is a Deemed to be University under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956 since 2008. The institution was originally started in 1993 as St.Peter’s Engineering College. Its emblem is a Greek Cross and each of the arms with equal length has a unique colour namely verdant green, Kahu blue, Chartreuse and blue and a white cross is placed inside this cross with each arm having a round end. While the Latin cross is identified with the crucifixion, the Greek cross is usually considered as a sign of God. The colours used in the emblem symbolises harmony, prosperity, trustworthiness and wisdom.

SRMU is built upon the excellence of Shri Ramswaroop Memorial Group of Professional Colleges (SRMGPC) in engineering and business education. Its emblem has a red pot of nectar spewing out from a red vessel which has its motto ‘विद्ययाऽमृतमश्नुते’ meaning ‘Knowledge enjoys Immortality’ taken from Ishopanishad Verse 11, written on and supported by the blue globe with latitudinal and longitudinal lines. The spewed nectar falls as drops for the stakeholders benefit. These are ensconced in a border on which its name and the State is inscribed. The Amrit or nectar is the source of immortality, meaning the university offers the nectar of knowledge, which is the source of immortality.

SHRI VENKATESHWARA UNIVERSITY Shri Venkateshwara University (SVU) is a State Private University enacted by Act No-26 of 2010 of State Legislature of Government of Uttar Pradesh and notified u/s 2(f), UGC Act 1956 of University Grants Commission, Government of India. SHRIDHAR UNIVERSITY Shridhar University (SU) is a full-fledged ISO 9001:2015 certified self financed university established under the Government of Rajasthan Gazette dated April 3, 2010. SU is an initiative of Sarvhit Trust (Meerut), a nonprofit welfare organisation. Its emblem is a word mark in a rectangle with one half in black rose or dark crimson and the other half in blue koi or pastel sky blue colours. The name of the university is written in extra bold condensed sans serif font in two lines with a dividing black line. At the bottom its motto ‘Way to Transform’ is written. The dark crimson colour symbolises crimson can symbolize vigour, passion, love, affection, and even courage and blue koi colour symbolises peace, tranquillity and calmness.

STAREX UNIVERSITY The Starex University, Gurgaon, Delhi NCR, has been conceptualised under the provisions of the Haryana Private Universities (Amendment) Act 2016 and is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Government of Haryana. The motto of SU Gurugram is ‘Nunc est Semper’ meaning ‘Now is Forever’. The emblem of the university has a shield divided diagonally into four parts in red, blue, yellow and green and crested by a pair of lions and a banner at the bottom holding its motto in Latin and English. SIDO KANHU MURMU UNIVERSITY

SIDO KANHU MURMU UNIVERSITY The erstwhile Sido Kanhu University (SKU), now rechristened Sido Kanhu Murmu University (SKMU) was founded on January 10, 1992 by an act of Bihar Legislative Assembly. With the formation of the State of Jharkhand in 2000 the university comes under the new State Government of Jharkhand. The circular emblem of the university has a stem of tendu with three leaves surrounded by a swan, palash flower, mahua flower bud and its motto in Sanskrit ‘नीरक्षीरविवेकिनी  विद्या’ meaning ‘Education to Discriminate Water and Milk’. These are ensconced by a circle which bears its name in Devanagari and English and its year of establishment. At the bottom, the traditional drum used by the tribal population is placed. All these are circumscribed by a traditional running design of the locale. The motifs of all the elements used in the emblem are representative of the State and the geography the university is located in.

DAKSHINA CHITRA MUSEUM

DAKSHINA CHITRA MUSEUM Dakshina Chitra Museum is a cross cultural living museum of art, architecture, lifestyles, crafts and performing arts of South India. It is a project of Madras Craft Foundation, an NGO was opened to the public on December 14, 1996 and is located overlooking the Bay of Bengal, at Muttukadu, near Chennai. The authentic homes in a regional vernacular style are purchased, taken down, transported and reconstructed by artisans (Stapathis) of the regions from where the houses came. Its insignia has a traditional ‘kolam’ made using a single intersecting line filled with four dots in brown colour on an orange square. BHARATI VIDYAPEETH Established in 1964 by Dr. Patangrao Kadam, Bharati Vidyapeeth began its journey from a small room in the congested lanes in the old part of Pune. On April 26, 1996 Bharati Vidyapeeth became a ‘Deemed to be University’ upon the granting of the status to twelve of its institutions by the Government of India. The emblem of the university has a map of India placed within a pink circle surrounded by four concentric circles, indicating the spread of the university in different places of India. It is ensconced in a yellow border which carries its name. It is crested by a flying eagle and below the circle on a blue banner ‘Deemed University’ is written. At the bottom, on a pedestal ‘Pune’ is written. The flying eagle symbolises keen and sharp eyes, powerful wings, might, regality and ferocity. BANASTHALI VIDYAPITH Shri Shantabai Shiksha Kutir was started in October 1935 in the mud huts provided by the Jiwan Kutir, with six girls. The name ‘Banasthali Vidyapith’ was adopted in 1943 and undergraduate courses were introduced. The institution was granted the status of a deemed university in 1983 by the UGC. The blue circular emblem has the portrait of the founder’s daughter Shantabai with a halo holding a water pot amidst a fire. SIR PADMAPAT SINGHANIA UNIVERSITY Sir Padmapat Singhania University (SPSU) has been established by JK Cement Ltd. Nimbahera Foundation (JKCNF) through an Act of the State Government of Rajasthan. The logo has a pictorial and word mark in blue. The circular pictorial is an abstract representation of a tree of knowledge with trunks, branches meaning branches of engineering and nodes meaning interactions of engineering branches in blue colour and vertical bluish green strokes signifying abundance of opportunities and rooted support. SURENDRANAGAR UNIVERSITY Surendranagar University is located at Shree Pandit Nathulalji Vyas Campus on Wadhawan - Kothariya Road at Wadhavan Surendranagar. The circular emblem of the university has a border which carries the name of the university on top and a pair of laurels at the bottom. Inside the circle a shield is placed. It is divided into four parts of which one carries a plough, the second one three flying birds, the third a sun and the fourth a microscope. The microscope denotes scientific approach; the plough denotes agriculture and being rooted; the flying birds denote freedom of thought, imagination and greater vision and the sun is the symbol of hope, light, direction, being reliable and resolute. The laurels denote victory, accomplishment, honour, recognition, immortality, peace and harmony.

SIDHO-KANHO-BIRSHA UNIVERSITY Sidho-Kanho-Birsha University (SKBU) situated in Purulia started functioning on July 6, 2010 with the publication of assent of the Governor in the Kolkata Gazette. Its circular emblem with yellow background and black details has an open book and pen in the centre and its motto in Sanskrit ‘स नो बुद्धया शुभया संयुनन्तु’ meaning ‘Let the Almighty Bestow on Us Blessed Thought’. All these are ensconced by a border bearing the name of the university and its year of establishment. SILVER OAK UNIVERSITY The Silver Oak University (SOU) was established in 2009 by the Silver Oak Group of Institutes. It has been accorded the status of Private University under Gujarat Private Universities Act, 2009. Its universal human values are reflected in its motto in Sanskrit ‘ज्ञानं परमम् भूषणम् ’ meaning ‘Knowledge is the Supreme Ornament’ and ‘Education to Innovation’. Its green and brown emblem has a tree created by curved design strokes supporting an open book and ensconced by an arc bearing its name. Its emblem has a heart intersected with a motif of a pigeon and a rising sun. Extremely bold rays originate from the heart symbol.
