The emblem of Bhargava College, Samba (BDC Samba) features an open book supporting lotus and a glowing traditional lamp supported on sides by a pair of scrolls. These are ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name of the college and its place. The motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘विद्या ददाति विनयम्’ (Narayan Pandit, 6, Hitopadesha), which translates to ‘Education Makes one Humble’ is inscribed on a banner placed below the seal. The book serves as the literal and metaphorical foundation of formal education, academic rigour and continuous learning; the lotus symbolises purity, spiritual growth and overcoming obstacles and it highlights that true learning thrives even amidst worldly challenges; the book ; the lamp stands for enlightenment, wisdom, and the removal of ignorance and represents the spread of knowledge radiating outward to society; and the scrolls represent traditional scholarship, preservation of heritage and ancient wisdom passing through generations.

KIIT owes its existence to the vision of its founder Prof. Achyuta Samanta. The green colour emblem of the institute has a bottom half of a gear wheel supporting the acronym ‘KIIT’ of its name in which the two ‘i’s depicting two humans. The gear wheel symbolises interconnectedness; efficiency and precision; progress and advancement; synchronisation and timing and order and structure.
