Pura) features a circle housing the motif of an open book supporting a rising sun surmounted by the motto in Sanskrit ‘तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय’ (Yajnavalkya, 1.3.28, Pavamana Mantra, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad) meaning ‘From Darkness Lead Me to Light’ and supported by its tagline in Sanskrit ‘विद्याधनं सर्वधनं प्रधानम्’, which translates to ‘Knowledge is the Supreme Wealth’. A blue circular border ensconcing the circle is inscribed with the name, place and the year of establishment of the college. The book represents the primary source of literacy, formal education and continuous academic learning; and the sun symbolises the dawn of wisdom, intellectual awakening and the dispersion of the darkness of ignorance through knowledge.

The green colour emblem of the institute has a bottom half of a gear wheel supporting the acronym ‘KIIT’ of its name in which the two ‘i’s depicting two humans.
