The emblem of Gandhi Memorial College, Srinagar (GMC Srinagar) features a globe of the word with a handshake placed over it. The globe is ensconced by a white and blue circular border inscribed with the name of the college and its motto in Sanskrit ‘वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम्’ (Verse 71, Chapter 6, Maha Upanishad), which translates to ‘The Whole Earth is One Family’.  A portion of a gearwheel and a pair of stylised wings surround the circle. THe globe of the world represents a global perspective, inclusivity and the breakdown of geographical barriers through education; the handshake symbolises peace, cooperation, mutual respect and friendship among different cultures and nations, which directly reflects Mahatma Gandhi's core philosophies of non-violence (Ahimsa) and harmony; the gearwheel represents technological progress, industrial advancement and practical skills; and the wings resembling aerodynamic wings, symbolising aspiration, progress and rising to new heights of intellectual achievement.
