The red, green and blue emblem of Government Degree College, Budgam (GDC Budgam) features a nib of a pen with flame atop supported by a leaf of chinar, a lighted candle and an open book along with the inscriptions in Arabic - in left ‘رأس الفضائل العلم’, which translates to ‘The Head (source) of All Virtues is Knowledge’ and in right ‘’, which translates to ‘غاية الفضائل العلم’, which translates to ‘"The Ultimate Pinnacle (Goal) of Virtues is Knowledge’. These are ensconced by a blue border inscribed with the motto of the college 'Knowledge is Fountain Head of Virtues; Virtues the Ultimate Truth of Knowledge’. The name of the college is written on a banner placed below the seal. The flame symbolises the light of truth, enlightenment and the elimination of ignorance through writing and documentation; the nib signifies literacy, intellectual expression and formal scholarship; the lit candle represents the dissemination of knowledge and the active elimination of ignorance; the book  represents accessible knowledge, formal scholarship and continuous academic growth.

UTTARANCHAL UNIVERSITY Uttaranchal University has come a long way since its inception in 2013 providing world class multidisciplinary education. The university's mission is to inculcate the essence of the Sanskrit Shloka ‘पदं हि सर्वत्र गुणैर्निधीयते’ meaning ‘Good Qualities Put their Footprints Everywhere’. The logo of the university has a blue and green abstract pictorial of ‘U’ and on its right a wordmark of its name in capitals thin serif letters with smooth transition of strokes.
