A yellow ribbon placed below the book is inscribed with the text ‘Lolab’, Below the seal, on a golden banner, the motto of the college in Urdu ‘علم بڑی دولت ہے’, which translates to ‘Knowledge is A Great Wealth’ is inscribed. The evergreen pine tree, which is signifies longevity, steady growth and resilience, encouraging students to remain firmly rooted while reaching for higher goals; the book represents formal education, literacy, and foundational knowledge from which personal and academic growth blossoms; and the scenery reflects the natural landscape of the picturesque Lolab Valley in the Kupwara district of Jammu & Kashmir.

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The Tirumala Venkateswara Temple is the most visited religious center in the world. It is also involved in various social, religious, literary and educational activities.
