The emblem of Government Degree College, Magam (GDC Magam) features the motifs of a glowing sun with snow-capped mountains and pine tree, an open book inscribed with the motto of the college ‘Who has Taught by the Pen’ and in Arabic ‘اَلَّذِیْ عَلَّمَ بِالْقَلَمِ’, a quill pen, a microscope and a computer surmounted by a green banner inscribed with the name of the college and its managing department and supported by a blue banner inscribed with the institution's name in traditional Urdu Nastaliq calligraphy. The sun represents enlightenment, the dawn of wisdom and the eradication of ignorance; the mountains and the landscape honour the local geography and natural heritage of the Kashmir Valley; the book denotes knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; and the computer and the microscope symbolise technology and science.

UTTARANCHAL UNIVERSITY Uttaranchal University has come a long way since its inception in 2013 providing world class multidisciplinary education. The university's mission is to inculcate the essence of the Sanskrit Shloka ‘पदं हि सर्वत्र गुणैर्निधीयते’ meaning ‘Good Qualities Put their Footprints Everywhere’.
