The name, place and its year of establishment of the college are written on a banner placed above the shield. The tagline of the college 'Darkness to Light’ is written on a banner placed on the shield at the bottom. The mountain range and the river refer to the geography of the college; the shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the book denotes knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; the sun represents life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity;  the flaming torch is an emblem of enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power; and the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication.

UTTARANCHAL UNIVERSITY Uttaranchal University has come a long way since its inception in 2013 providing world class multidisciplinary education. The university's mission is to inculcate the essence of the Sanskrit Shloka ‘पदं हि सर्वत्र गुणैर्निधीयते’ meaning ‘Good Qualities Put their Footprints Everywhere’.
