The emblem of Dogra Educational Trust (DET) features a red circular border inscribed with the name of the college’s managing trust and its motto ‘Knowledge for Liberation’ housing the motifs of an upward pointing hand holding a chakra with its index finger, a globe with grid lines, a rising sun, a colour swatch, fountain pen, a veena, a meditating figure, an open book, and a lotus. The chakra signifies acts as the active, vigilant force used by Lord Vishnu to destroy evil and restore cosmic order; the globe denotes education, knowledge, influence, timelessness, global unity and interconnectedness; the sun with radiating lines behind the central symbols represent the dawn of knowledge dispelling the darkness of ignorance; the pen and the swatch of colours represent the integration of academic/literary pursuits and artistic/creative expression; the veena symbolises Goddess Saraswat, culture, heritage ad learning; the meditating figure in a classic yoga or meditative posture symbolises self-realization, inner peace, discipline and spiritual grounding; the book represents structured study and academic learning; the lotus is a traditional Indian symbol for purity, enlightenment and blossoming potential out of humble beginnings.
