The border is inscribed with the name of the college; and the banner is inscribed with the motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘असतो मा सद्गमय तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय’ (Yajnavalkya, 1.3.28, Pavamana Mantra, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad), which translates to ‘From Unreal Lead Me to the Real. From Darkness Lead Me to Light’. The open book represents the core foundation of structured learning, academic excellence and the preservation of knowledge; the rising sun directly connects to the college's name (Bhaskar means Sun in Sanskrit), which symbolises the dawn of enlightenment, the dispersal of intellectual darkness and a bright future for the students; and the rays  portray the spread of wisdom and education out into society.
