BANASTHALI VIDYAPITH

Shri Shantabai Shiksha Kutir was started in October 1935 in the mud huts provided by the Jiwan Kutir, with six girls. The name ‘Banasthali Vidyapith’ was adopted in 1943 and undergraduate courses were introduced. The institution was granted the status of a deemed university in 1983 by the UGC. The blue circular emblem has the portrait of the founder’s daughter Shantabai with a halo holding a water pot amidst a fire. It is ensconced in a circular border which carries its name, year of establishment and its motto in Sanskrit ‘सा विद्या या विमुक्तये’ meaning ‘That which Liberates is Knowledge’ which forms part of a verse appearing in Vishnu-Purana (1.19.41). The colour blue signifies serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.

The circular emblem of the university has an orange eight toothed gear wheel bearing the university’s name in Meiteilon ensconcing the motifs of a pair of gear wheels, a student with mortarboard hat and a rising sun in the background of Kanglasha - Nongsaba, i.e. half lion and half dragon. ATAL BIHARI VAJPAYEE HINDI VISHWAVIDYALAYA Atal Bihari Vajpayee Hindi Vishwavidyalaya (ABVHV) was established on December 19, 2011 by Madhya Pradesh Act No. 34, 2011. The orange and red emblem of the university has a monogram using its Devanagari acronym in white colour placed on a red circle and circumscribed by a snake. These are ensconced by a circular border in orange colour with red outline bearing the name of the university in Devanagari and a pair of horns of deer and its year of establishment. The gearwheel is supported by a pair of smaller gear wheels at the bottom sides. The motifs of a structural bridge and electrical transmission towers are placed inside the smaller gear wheels referring to the study of engineering. The name of the place of college is written below the gearwheel. The gearwheels denote interconnectedness, efficiency, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure; and the lighthouse refers to guidance, safety and resilience.
