The emblem of Government Degree College, Udhampur (GDC Udhampur) features an abstract depiction of a mountain range and landscape with red sun with glowing rays supported by an open book and the text of the year of establishment of the college. These are ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college. The mountain range and landscape reflects the mighty Shivalik hills and Himalayas that surround the Udhampur region in Jammu and Kashmir. The red sun casting radiating lines across the upper gold half of the seal represents enlightenment, dawn and the dispelling of darkness (ignorance) through education, which symbolises the institutional goal to build a vibrant, knowledge-based society. The open book represents universal access to knowledge, continuous learning and academic excellence.

The green colour emblem of the institute has a bottom half of a gear wheel supporting the acronym ‘KIIT’ of its name in which the two ‘i’s depicting two humans.
