Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited (NLC) is under the Department of Coal with registered office at Chennai and corporate office at Neyveli in Tamilnadu. The company is engaged in exploitation and excavation of lignite, generation of thermal power and also sale of raw lignite. In 1928, occurrence of ‘peat’ a low calorific fuel of coal family near point calimere was reported to the then Madras Government, by the sub-collector of Thanjavur Mr. Nelson. Its blue colour logo has N, L and C written in a interwined and superimposed within a triangle, which is ensconced in a circular gear wheel. At the bottom is its tagline ‘Creating Wealth for Wellbeing'.

The green toned circular emblem of the university has a motif of a farmer tilling the soil using cattle and plough placed over an open book signifying the knowledge, wisdom and education of agriculture. Below this its motto in Sanskrit ‘कृषि मूलम् जगत् सर्वम्’ meaning ‘Agriculture is the Root of the World’ is written. All these are ensconced in two circular borders, of which one carries its name and place in English and the outer one carries its name and place in Devanagari supported by a pair of wheat ears. DIRECTORATE OF FORENSIC SCIENCE SERVICES During 1983, the then Scientific Advisory Committee to the Cabinet (SAC-C) under the overall guidance of an Expert Committee chaired by Prof. M. M. Sharma, FRS, recommended that the laboratories in Delhi, Calcutta and Hyderabad must be developed as Science and Technology institutions, functioning in an autonomous fashion. In the first phase, the three Central Forensic Science Laboratories at Calcutta, Hyderabad, and Chandigarh were restructured into six scientific division viz.
