NATIONAL INVESTIGATION AGENCY
The NIA Act was enacted on December 13, 2008 and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) was born. NIA is the central counter terrorism law enforcement agency in India. It has registered and investigated 315 cases and has a record of 90% conviction rate. Its emblem has ‘NIA’ placed in the centre of a blue bordered circle. The acronym is supported by a laurel and national emblem atop. At the bottom is the ‘Chakra’ and tricolour ribbon fly on both its sides. The circular border has its name and ‘Government of India’ written in English.
