COMPETITION COMMISSION OF INDIA

The Competition Act, 2002 was passed by the Parliament in the year 2002, to which the President accorded assent in January 2003, which was subsequently amended by the Competition (Amendment) Act, 2007 and the Competition Commission of India (CCI) and the Competition Appellate Tribunal were established. The CCI has a Chairperson and six members. The provisions of the Competition Act relating to anti-competitive agreements and abuse of dominant position were notified on May 20, 2009. Its acronym has been made into a monogram in blue colour, where two similar strokes are being looked at by an observer.

GOVERNMENT DEGREE COLLEGE THACHI (GDC THACHI) The emblem of Government Degree College Thachi (GDC Thachi) features a circle trisected with red outlines housing the motifs of three deodar trees, an open book with a pen and an orange radiating sun. The circle is ensconced by a green circular border inscribed with the name of the college and its year of establishment in Devanagari and the motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘विद्या नाम नरस्य रूपमधिकं’ (Verse 16, Niti Shatakam, Bhartrihari), which translates to ‘Knowledge is Indeed the Ultimate Beauty of a Person’. The deodar trees symbolise the lush, high-altitude Himalayan environment of the Seraj area in Thachi; the book and the pen are universal symbols of literacy, academic learning and the pursuit of knowledge; and the sun  represents life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity.
