Indian Institute of Crafts & Design, Jaipur (IICD) was registered as Institute of Crafts, Jaipur on April 20, 1995 by the Registrar of Societies, Rajasthan, Jaipur under the Rajasthan Societies Registration Act 1958. Its name was changed to Indian Institute of Crafts and Design, Rajasthan, Jaipur under section 12 of the said Act on April 27, 1998. An MoU was signed between the Government of Rajasthan and Ambuja Educational Institute (AEI) for transferring the management of IICD to AEI under Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model on August 6, 2007. Its greyish magenta monochrome emblem is a 12 petalled lotus depicted by a paper and cloth with a big solid circle representing different materials referring different courses. Below this its name in Devanagari and English in black and grey are written.
