The emblem of Institute of Nano Science and Technology (INST) has a rising sun housing the motifs of a pair of green leaves and a nano element in brown colour  placed on a green oval. Its initials are written on green and blue hexagons denoting chemical and biological sciences supporting the motifs. Its name surmounts the motif in Devanagari and supports it in English. The rising Sun denotes light, universal prosperity and path for growth and the leaves refer to nature and biological sciences.

VALLABHACHARYA TILAK The tilak of Vallbhacharyas is said to consist of two white lines down the forehead, forming a half-circle at its base and a white dot between them. Vallabhacharya (1479–1531 CE) was a devotional philosopher, who founded the Pushti sect in India, following the philosophy of ‘Shuddha Advaita’ (Pure Non-dualism). These are supported by a partial wheel of gear, in the counter of which its motto in Sanskrit ‘विश्वं ग्रामे प्रतिष्टितम्' meaning 'The World is Established from the Village' is inscribed. The crown of wheat symbolises agriculture and village produce; the pair of footwear of Mahatma denote that the university follows in the footsteps of his ideals; the rising sun denotes life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity and the gear wheel denotes interconnectedness, efficiency, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure.
