BUREAU OF INDIAN STANDARDS
The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), the national standards body of India became functional as a statutory body under the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 1986 with effect from April 1, 1987 taking over staff, assets and liabilities of Indian Standards Institution established in 1947. The Bureau is promoting and nurturing the standardisation movement in the country. Its logo has dark blue triangle which protects the red solid circle. This circle also sits exactly above the scale point, below which the motto in Sanskrit ‘Manakaha Pathapradarshakaha’ meaning ‘Standards for Humanity’ is written.

VALLABHACHARYA TILAK The tilak of Vallbhacharyas is said to consist of two white lines down the forehead, forming a half-circle at its base and a white dot between them. Vallabhacharya (1479–1531 CE) was a devotional philosopher, who founded the Pushti sect in India, following the philosophy of ‘Shuddha Advaita’ (Pure Non-dualism). He wrote a very important commentary called ‘Shri Bhashya’. The Vallabhacharya sect worships Krishna in his character of Bala Gopala.

MAHATMA GANDHI CHITRAKOOT GRAMODAY VISHWAVIDYALAYA The emblem of Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramoday Vishwavidyalaya (MGCGV) has a crown of wheat supported by the footwear of Mahatma Gandhi with a rising sun in the background. These are supported by a partial wheel of gear, in the counter of which its motto in Sanskrit ‘विश्वं ग्रामे प्रतिष्टितम्' meaning 'The World is Established from the Village' is inscribed. The crown of wheat symbolises agriculture and village produce; the pair of footwear of Mahatma denote that the university follows in the footsteps of his ideals; the rising sun denotes life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity and the gear wheel denotes interconnectedness, efficiency, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure.

BUREAU OF POLICE RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT The Government of India vide Resolution No.8/136/68-P.I (Pers.I) dated 28.08.1970 formally established the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D), under the Ministry of Home Affairs giving a new orientation to then existing Police Research and Advisory Council in 1966 with the primary objective of modernization of police force: 1. to take direct and active interest in the issues, 2. to promote a speedy and systematic study of the police problems and 3. to apply science and technology in the methods and techniques used by police. THE JAMMU & KASHMIR LIGHT INFANTRY India's first Light Infantry was born out of the peoples' response in 1947, to the invasion of Kashmir by Pakistan. In the difficult days of the invasion, the population formed local defence groups. These were later organised into militias responsible for specific sectors, e.g., Leh, Nubra, Jammu, Punch, etc. Over a period, these were grouped into the Militia battalions. Two of these were later converted into the Ladakh Scouts. The militia battalions operated with skill on the Line of Control (LoC) and in the 1971 Indo-Pak War earned three battle honours. In 1972, the militia battalions were brought on par with the army units, and in 1976 designated the Jammu & Kashmir Light Infantry (JAK LI). The 8th JAK LI earned great honour by capturing a Pakistani post at 21,000 feet at the Siachen Glacier in 1987. NATIONAL SINGLE WINDOW SYSTEM The National Single Window System (NSWS) is a digital platform to guide you in identifying and applying for approvals according to your business requirements. The Know Your Approvals (KYA) module includes guidance for thirty two Central Departments and thirty two States. The portal hosts applications for approvals from twenty eight Central Departments and twenty State Governments. These approvals can be applied through NSWS.
