EASTERN ZONAL CULTURAL CENTRE
The Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre (EZCC) covering the states of Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand, Manipur, Orissa, Sikkim, Tripura, West Bengal and The Union Territory of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands is one of the seven such Zonal Cultural Centers set up by the Government of India with a view to culturally integrate the states and Union Territories as a part of the program of national integration. The Centre is under the overall supervision of the Department of Culture, Ministry of Tourism and Culture, Government of India and is headed by the Director. The Governor of West Bengal is the chairman of the EZCC. Its logo has seven round cornered squares with black border of which one in the centre is filled with red.

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.

An abstract depiction of the holy river Prachi supports the tilak. The motifs are ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name of the college. The seal is placed on a decorated platform. The motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय’ (Yajnavalkya, 1.3.28, Pavamana Mantra, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad) meaning ‘From Darkness Lead Me to Light’ is written is inscribed on the front side of the platform. Below this, the name of the place of college is written. The tilak symbolises humble surrender at the Lord's feet, spiritual purity, and divine protection from negative influences; the flame symbolises transformation, passion, purification, and divine knowledge; and the river refers to the nativity of the college.

SPINTRONIC TECHNOLOGY & ADVANCE RESEARCH (STAR) The emblem of Spintronic Technology & Advance Research (STAR) features a yellow and bluetoned star inscribed with the college’s acronym encircled by fifteen stars in yellow, red and blue shades. On a blue ribbon placed below the star, the name and place of the college are written. The large star represents the acronym ‘STAR’ and reflects the institution's vision for students to ‘sparkle in the galaxy of technological arena’. It symbolises the ‘conquering of all frontiers’ in technical education and the aim for students to become leading luminaries. The ring of stars represents a community of scholars or diverse engineering disciplines. SRINIX COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING (SCE) The emblem of Srinix College of Engineering (SCE) features an orange circle with the motifs of a three-pointed star (consists of three intersecting tetrahedrons or three-dimensional pyramid-like spikes), an electrical transmission line, a sprocket wheel, a satellite dish antenna, a water dam, a computer, a traditional lamp and an openbook. The circle is placed in the counter of an orange gearwheel inscribed with the name of the college and its year of inception. WESTERN AIR COMMAND The origin of the Western Air Command can be traced back to the nascent years of independent India, when the various formations of the Air Force were organised into two groups. On July 22, 1949 the No 1 Operational Group was re-designated as the Operational Command. The Command assumed its present name of Headquarters Western Air Command on June 10, 1963. Headquarters Western Air Command, located at Subroto Park, New Delhi, has over 200 bases placed under its command and has been involved in all major operations in India since independence. Due to its geographical location the Command has always been the hub-centre of all operational activities during any operation. Its insignia has a ‘trishul’ and an eagle in the centre of a circle which is topped by India’s national emblem. Its motto in Sanskrit ‘Akashmasthseema’ in golden border is placed at the bottom.
