The blue pictorial emblem of PSG College of Technology (PSG Tech) features a shield housing the images of a gear wheel, a motor,a cutting tool, and a planet in orbit along with a circle bearing its initials ‘PSGCT’. Below the shield, on a banner the college’s motto ‘Knowledge and Service’ is inscribed. The shield stands for safety, protection, readiness to overcome difficulties, power, valiance and cooperation; the motifs refer to the college’s areas of specialisation in engineering and the colour blue denotes serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.

Engineering education in BHU started in 1919 with the establishment of Banaras Engineering College (BENCO).
