The sun and the moon refer to the service of the Institute all through the day and night; the four cylinders refer to four colour cylinders for printing and the gear wheel refer to interconnectedness, efficiency, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure.

The logo of university has the ‘samai’ that is the lamp in the centre symbolising that Sanskrit is like the lamp that is mild yet powerfully showing the path of knowledge though its peculiar qualities like calmness, sacredness and guiding force. Books are the representation of the treasure of Sanskrit language. These sciences are symbolised as petals of a flower. The tagline ‘राष्ट्रहिताय संकृत्म्म्’ is the basis of the logo. It puts forward the intention of being a nation lover at the same time being a world citizen by constantly contributing to nation building. Two lotus buds surround the slogan represent the students and learners who are keen on learning the language.
