ICAR-INDIAN INSTITUTE OF SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION |
The circular emblem of Indian Institute of Soil And Water Conservation (IISWC) has the motifs of a mountain, water drop, sprout of three leaves, green earth and soil held by a hand, ensconced by two green circular stokes and supported by its acronym ‘IISWC’. These are circumscribed by its name in Devanagari on top and its motto in Sanskrit ‘माता भूमिः पुत्रो अहं पृस्थिव्याः पर्जन्यः स उ नः पिपर्तु’ (12.1.12, Atharva Veda) meaning ‘This Earth is Our Mother and We All are its Sons’ at the bottom.
