The emblem of Gurukula Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar (GIT BBSR) features a brown banner with a pictorial of a shield and its name. The shield is inscribed with the motifs of an electronics circuit, a vernier caliper, a gearwheel, a computer and a Swastika and the name of the college. It is crested by a motif of a yogi meditating on a lotus flower. The shield is supported by a pair of laurels. A banner placed at the back of the shield is inscribed with the year of establishment of the college. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the Swastika symbolises conduciveness to well-being ; the meditating yogi on lotus symbolises the transcendence of human suffering and the journey from ignorance to enlightenment; the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication; and the other motifs refer to the different subject disciplines of engineering.
