The emblem of Utkalmani Gopabandhu Institute of Engineering (UGIE) features a yellow circle placed in a blue gearwheel, inscribed with the motifs of a pump, a tractor in operation, an electrical transmission tower and a torch with flame supported by the motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘नित्यं कुरु कर्म त्वम्’ (Verse 8,Chapter 3, Bhagavad Gita) meaning ‘You Always PerformYour Duty’. The gearwheel is surmounted by a red banner inscribed with the name of the college and supported by a blue banner inscribed with the name of the place of the college. The gearwheel denotes technology, engineering, interconnectedness, efficiency, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure; the torch with flame is an emblem of enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power; and the other motifs refer to the subject disciplines of engineering and technology in operation.

NATIONAL DISASTER RESPONSE FORCE The emblem of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has a blue triangle held in an orange circle and ensconced by a thick green, white and orange tricolour border. It is further circumscribed by a blue border on which its name is inscribed along with its motto in Sanskrit ‘आपदा सेवा सदैव सर्वत्र’ meaning ‘Sustained Disaster Response Service Under All Circumstances’. This is further bordered by a motif of eighteen humans holding their hands together. This assemblage is supported by a pair of golden laurels and crested by the Nation Emblem.
