The inverted octagon-shaped green textile brand patch-like emblem of Bhubaneswar Institute of Technology (BIT) features an open book supporting a blue mortarboard hat surmounted by the motto of the college ‘Inspiring Innovations’. On a blue banner placed on the patch at the bottom ‘BIT’ is inscribed. The green octagonal patch conveys stability, brand identity, quality, heritage, a balanced nature, environmental awareness, sustainability, prosperity, wealth and value through visual storytelling. The book refers to knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; and the mortarboard hat or Oxford hat denotes educational achievement, equality, tradition and rights of passage.

MAULANA AZAD NATIONAL URDU UNIVERSITY Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) is a Central University established by an Act of Parliament in 1998. The logo of the university has two strokes of orange and green forming the shape of ‘U’ in tricolour and has a ‘Ashoka Chakra’ at its top. GOVERNMENT POLYTECHNIC, RANCHI (GP RANCHI) The purple emblem of Government Polytechnic, Ranchi (GP Ranchi) features a gearwheel housing the motifs of a factory with chimneys, mining towers and trees. The motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘योगः कर्मसु कौशलम्’ (Verse 50, Chapter 2, Bhagavad Gita), which translates to ‘Yoga is Skill in Action’ is written on a banner placed below the gearwheel. The gearwheel is a universal symbol of mechanical engineering, industrial progress and automation; the factory symbolises manufacturing, manufacturing plants, and heavy engineering production. It honors the rich mineral and industrial baseline of the Ranchi and Jharkhand regions; the mining towers represent core infrastructure sectors such as civil engineering, mining and oil extraction; and the trees are silhouettes of local trees, recognising the natural landscape of Jharkhand (which translates to ‘The Land of Forests’.

The circular emblem of the university has an open book supporting a lotus with a background of mountains and surmounted by atomic structure. These are ensconced by a yellow circular border which carries its motto in Sanskrit ‘तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय’ (Yajnavalkya,1.3.28, Pavamana Mantra, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad) meaning ‘From Darkness Lead me to Light’ on one side and its name in Kashmiri on the other side.
