The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the cross is the primary symbol of Christianity, representing the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, his victory over sin and death, and his ultimate sacrifice for humanity; the candle with flame symbolises divine presence, hope, and the human soul, often representing the light of knowledge against darkness and the fleeting nature of life; the computer refers to science and technology; and human with book is the learner and the student.
