The emblem of St. Teresa Arts and Science College for Women (STASCW) features an image of St. Teresa of Avila with a pigeon and a notebook and a quill pen ensconced by a red circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college. A pair of laurels support the seal and a yellow banner inscribed with the motto of the college ‘Inspire and shine’ is placed at the bottom. St. Teresa of Avila is a Spanish mystic and Doctor of the Church. She represents selfless dedication, intellectual curiosity, and spiritual leadership. St. Teresa is frequently depicted with a quill and book as these items to signify her status as a prolific writer and teacher. In an academic context, they symbolise the pursuit of knowledge, wisdom, and excellence. The pigeon hovering near her, represents the Holy Spirit, signifying divine inspiration and the enlightenment that guides the soul and the mind. The wreath of leaves encircling the central image represent victory, peace, and the continuous growth of the institution and its students.

RAJMATA VIJAYARAJE SCINDIA KRISHI VISHWA VIDYALAYA The Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Gwalior was established by Government of Madhya Pradesh on August 19, 2008 by bifurcating the JNKVV, Jabalpur. The green toned circular emblem of the university has a motif of a farmer tilling the soil using cattle and plough placed over an open book signifying the knowledge, wisdom and education of agriculture. Below this its motto in Sanskrit ‘कृषि मूलम् जगत् सर्वम्’ meaning ‘Agriculture is the Root of the World’ is written. All these are ensconced in two circular borders, of which one carries its name and place in English and the outer one carries its name and place in Devanagari supported by a pair of wheat ears. The ears of wheat signifies prosperity, food, wealth and nourishment and the colour green signifies agriculture, nature, growth, balance, harmony, environment, prosperity, vitality, prestige, wealth and being very down to earth.

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.
